Lumbar Spine AP/PA Breathing

Dear M.J. Fuller,
I saw the nice picture of lateral L-Spine with breathing technique (85kVp, 40mA, 2sec). Could you please post the exposure factors used for the AP/PA L-Spine picture you've shown using breathing technique?
Kind Regards,
Yulia

The exposure factors are unknown and may not be that helpful unless you were using the same imaging system and the patient was the same size. As a guide, you employ the same kVp and mAS as you would normally use (say 75kVp and 20mAS- less with DR). The difference is in how the mAS is derived. Rather than using 250mA for 0.1 seconds, try 25mA for 1 second. ... or 12.5 mA for 2 seconds if the patient is very compliant. (Reciprocity law failure has been ignored)
If you use a long FFD (SID), these exposure factors will need to be increased. This technique is not suitable for every patient in every situation.
