In my opinion there are very few instances when an oblique of the T Spine would be of value. Most centres would procede to CT of the area of interest with or without 3D reconstruction. What are the indications for the oblique view being needed? Jim 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I agree with esperance1, T-Spine obliques are exceptionally rare. The only time I have done any in my 12years is for T1-T3 fractures in the absence of a CT machine. In that case, the positioning is the same as it is for most obliques. From AP rotate the patient 45 degrees (or angle the central ray) and then give an exposure about 25% greater than the AP. Centre at level of concern.
