Soft Tissue on Lat. Cervical Projection

Can cricoid cartilage and/or vocal cords be visualized on a lat. cervical spine or soft tissue neck xray? Are these structures normally radiopaque or do they have to undergo some calcification or pathological changes to show up? What can one expect to find inferior to the epiglottis and posterior to the trachea at the level of C3 and C4 in regards to normal soft tissue? Thanks! Do you find this valuable?
