Immobilisation techniques

could anyone please tell me about paediatric immobilisation techniques for chest x-rays they have used and what they thought of it? I am doing some research into MRT preference in New Zealand particularly but I would love comments from all. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Here is an excellent article from a radiology educator's blog page. http://bloggingradiography.blogspot.com/2007/05/pediatric-chest-x-ray.html.
I think you will find it interesting for your research.

Depending on the age of the child, I would say the best thing is the Pigg-o-Stat. Parents cringe, kids hate it, but wow, do you ever get a good inspiration when they are crying. It seems mean but sometimes the oldest things are the best. Do you find this valuable?

I agree with the Pigg-o-Stat... it's terrible to watch the kids as they inevitably cry - but it really does produce a great x-ray. Do you find this valuable?
