Hi everybody. Having trouble identifying the abnormality within this projection.

The 4th metatarsal doesn't look right, but i have no idea what you would call it. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I can't see anything with the 4th metatarsal. However, the 1st distal phalanx/hallux/big toe appears to be fractured. You can compare your image to this: http://eorif.com/AnkleFoot/foot%20phalanx%20c1.html which is a similar case. Also, you may have noticed the image you provided is named "hallux crush". I think the fracture in your image looks like an old fracture because the lines of the fracture aren't sharp like in the example I provided. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
