Does regular lead not work as well?
I have used a simple sheet of lead (the same stuff I use to cover cassettes when dual exposing a film) and have had similar results.

Hi "daddyfurry",
The Snake was originally designed for use with the lateral horizontal ray lateral sternum view. It's advantages are that it can stand up and that it shapes itself to the sternum. In addition, it is made with solid lead sheet which is more effective in absorbing primary beam radiation. I have not tried using lead rubber but would imagine that it could be usefully employed with similar results.

Cheers,
