Hi Angela, Great to see you contributing. Well done. Just a couple of thoughts on the supine chest.....How do you achieve a FFD of 180cm's? To compensate for the ribs appearing slightly flattened or lordotic, would it help to have a slight angle down of the tube as would do in an AP erect chest?

Hi Angela and Denise,
There is no arguing about the 180cm...well spotted. I recently came across a debate about the tube angle for CXRs. There are some strongly in favour and some strongly against...not unlike so many other aspects of radiographic technique. That said, I would suggest that it deserves a mention.

Denise, thanks for the feedback to Angela. This sort of comment is extremely valuable and I know that Angela is looking for feedback.

Cheers,

Michael F.

You do need to help maximise the FFD for the supine view. If doing a portable chest xray make sure the patients bed is at the lowest height it can go (most hospital beds are adjustable) and the xray tube of the mobile machine is at its maximum height. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
