Transcription
I am a retired Radiographer/mammographer, I am now working from home doing radiology transcription. This site has been so helpful in deciphering what some to the Radiologists are saying on the transcription. I am not familiar with many of the MRI terms and anatomical areas of the brain. Could you please include some of this on your site? Also, Radiologists, please say complete words when you are dictating. Speed is not always the best way to dictate and make sure you are saying the correct word. I found out that there is no such word as Sternectomy, It should have been Sternotomy!!!!!

I'm wondering if anyone's department has a written policy/procedure for use of electronic markers to fix errors/ommissions.

I have a maisonnueve fracture,, help
I was recently diagnosed with a maisonnueve fracture of my right fibula (can't drive!). Is there anyone out there who can share a similar story with me ? My Orthopedist placed me in a boot cast, can't bear any weight for at least 2 more weeks (today is 2/7/12). Everyone I tell about it has never heard of this type of injury. I just need someone to talk with that has gone through this aggravating injury, I thought I just sprained my ankle,, until the pain in my lower leg became unbearable,, x rays revealed the bad news. Please feel free to reply.

C-Arm for diagnostic xrays???
A doctor (neurosurgeon) that I work for is wanting to buy a new machine, getting rid of our ancient machine that still uses film. He has asked me about getting a c-arm, and using it for AP/Lat & flexion/extension views of the C/T/L spines. He will also use the c-arm to do epidural steroid injections and facet blocks. I wondered if the image made by a c-arm is diagnostic quality? I wondered if it was "legal"? I am located in Arkansas.
