This is an old thread, but I'm new to the site and hope that nobody tried beam angulation as is stated in the previous comments! LOL To image the scaphoid, lay the forearm and hand (palm down) against the table. You would then want to angle the wrist 25-40 degrees towards the side of the 5th metacarpal (medially in the anatomic position). Hope this helps!
