Assess:
  • Brain echotexture
  • Symmetry
  • Haemorrhages
  • Structural abnormalities
  • Ventricular system

Documentation:
  • Longitudinal
    • Rt lateral to ventricle
    • Rt ventricle with / without SI measurement
    • Mid sagittal of 3rd ventricle / corpus callosum
    • Mid sagittal of 4th ventricle / cerebellum
    • Lt ventricle with / without SI measurement
    • Lt lateral to ventricle
  • Coronal
    • Anterior fossa with orbital roof
    • Anterior of middle cerebral artery
    • Mid of foramina of Monroe / 3rd ventricle
    • Mid of cerebral peduncles / cisterna Magna
    • Post of posterior horns of lateral ventricles
    • Post to ventricles
  • Enlarged view of foramina of Monroe with measurements of ventricular width: lateral margin to midline
  • If indicated coronal views of superficial views structures with linear higher frequency transducer
When abnormalities are found:

how common is duplication of ovaries? if one ovary is absent and the other is enlarged how do we find out compensatory hypertrophy or duplication of ovary?
