  • Patient standing with the affected heel centred towards the lateral border of the cassette
  • Adjust leg to ensure it is directly perpendicular
  • Centre the calcaneus so it will be projected to the centre of the IR
  • Centre the lateral malleolus to the midline axis of the IR
  • CR angled 45° caudal to the lateral malleolus
