Anyone know why hospitals are now requiring ARRT certification for CT Techs? Is it because Medicare now requires it? I thought I had heard that somewheres....

We have been recieving a lot of requests for CT Brain ?MRSA recently. We have no on site CT services so patients are transferred to the local private practice fro Higher modailty imaging.
I have little background in CT but this seemed like an odd pathway to ?MRSA. Anyone have any views on this?
