"It doesn't really work like that.
Biological effects of diagnostic levels of radiation are measured in Sieverts or or Rems. Because the radiation dose used in diagnostic imaging studies is small, there are not necessarily measurable biological effects at the time of exposure. For blood changes (like hematologic depression, decrease in lymphocytes) to occur, a person would have to receive a dose much higher than those received in diagnostic imaging. The "worry" with diagnostic imaging is that it causes cancer many years after the exposure. However, no studies have been done that measure this risk and it may be undetectable in the shadow of the natural incidence of cancer. We assume this risk exists and therefore follow radiation protection practices.
Sherer, M. A. S., Visconti, P. J., & Ritenour, E. R. (2006). Radiation Protection in Medical Radiography (5th ed). Canada: Mosby." Good Day my friend thank you very much for your kind reply and an answer to my question, bleave me I try to find this answer from many of our engineers, but that could not satisfied my consus, now I can understand that what could hapen after the exposure, thank you once again for the detailed reply, you might have seen my Profile I am a small contractor,I do pre-installation for X-Ray + CT scan + MRI and Mammography ----------- I work for Siemens and Philips and some time GE prectical is some thing than knolidge, if I have knolidge I can think of other ways to do things batter, on the other hand jut work as 30 years ago they were working. thats what I want to do batter batter and even batter ----------------- May be I donot have time because I am 68 years old ----------------- may I offer you my FRIENDSHIP ? thatk you once again, take care Baig
