Am a recent grad, just started at imaging center with a single-phase generator x-ray, no AECs, and have found the console defaults diverging far from my school text (Bontrager) and clinical rotation experience, paricularly for lateral exams. Extreme examples: a lateral sacrum defaults to 95kVp @ 160mAs -- nearly 3 times Bontrager; L5-S1 spot defaults to 100kVp @ 201.6mAs, 4 times Bontrager.

Pursuant to a homework assignment, I'd like to post a horrific radiograph of major gout -- but don't know how yet. Let me experiment here...
