snyderjv Optimal positioning for intubation in trauma 0 Jan 13 2011, 8:54 AM EST by snyderjv

When is flexion to facilitate intubation OK in trauma cases? Presuming we wish to support a neck in its customary curvature, (which I think is what we call neutral) how do we know what is neutral? How do we know whether the shape we are imposing on the patient is actually best for them?
For the airway side, is there a way I can determine in a given case that flexion would be OK?

I saw your profile and read some of your comments. I have been practicing Radiography for the past 3 years, but am going into Radiotherapy. Most of your discussions are hardly applicable here in Nigeria because we have very poor equipments to work with. This makes Radiography not as interesting as u guys portray it to be. I would really love to learn more about your practices.
